Environmental Responsibility

Being a member of WISA and adhering to our group’s Code of Conduct and guiding principles tells a community a lot about that company. WISA members are committed to meeting or exceeding all state and local requirements for safety and environmental regulations. Sand mining in Wisconsin is a highly regulated industry, and our members continually work to prove their commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable practices. We understand the importance of a healthy and sustainable environment. That’s why WISA and its members support programs like Green Tier and other efforts that promote sustaining the environment.

As part of that commitment, WISA members use sophisticated systems and technologies to reduce emissions from processing operations to below permitted levels, and adopt responsible reclamation plans and other practices to ensure they remain strong environmental stewards. Those efforts include cooperating with and having two-way, ongoing dialogue with local officials, neighbors and others about ongoing and future reclamation efforts and land-use plans.
